7-Day Tour: Kazakhstan & Uzbekistan

Meet your driver and guide at 9:00 am for a cultural immersion at the Ethnographic village “Hunns”. Experience traditional Kazakh rituals such as ‘Shashu’, bake national puffy bread, see the construction of a Kazakh yurt, and enjoy traditional horse games including Jigitovka, Atpen audaryspak, and Kyz kuu. End the day with a national cuisine lunch and archery activity. Return to Almaty in the late afternoon.

Travel to Issyk Lake, located at 1,756 meters above sea level, in the picturesque Issyk Valley along the historic Silk Road route. Enjoy leisurely walks and breathtaking views of mountains and forests. Continue to Turgen Gorge, known for its lush landscapes and waterfalls. Return to Almaty in the late afternoon.

Flight to Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s capital. Explore modern Tashkent, including the ‘Courage’ Monument commemorating the 1966 earthquake, Khast Imam Complex – home to the famous 7th century Osman Quran, and other city highlights.

Transfer to the station for the morning bullet train to Samarkand (2 hours ride). In Samarkand, visit Guri Emir – Tamerlane’s mausoleum, Registan Square – the symbol of Uzbekistan, walk along Tashkentskaya street to Bibi-Khanum mosque, and explore the vibrant Siab Bazaar.

Visit Shakhi-Zinda necropolis – a sacred cemetery of Temurid dynasty, Mausoleum of St. Daniel, and Ulugbek’s Observatory with its ancient sextant. Free time in the afternoon or optional visits.
