About Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan
Kyrgyzstan was formerly part of the Soviet Union. It has now become a popular destination offering pristine natural beauty and unique experiences. The country spreads across 200,000 sq. km, and with just over 5.5 million people, it is one of the least crowded countries in the world. To put this into perspective, Delhi, the capital of India, which is home to 35 million people, is significantly more crowded. Kyrgyzstan’s charm lies in its natural splendour and deep-rooted equestrian culture, which are central to life in Central Asia. But that’s just the beginning—Kyrgyzstan also boasts the world’s second-largest high-altitude lake and nearly 2,000 other stunning lakes, each with unique charm.
Kazakhstan, located in Central Asia, is the 9th largest country in the world, covering an area of over 2.7 million square kilometres. Despite being landlocked, it is the largest landlocked country in the world. Kazakhstan has been gaining popularity among Indian tourists due to its numerous attractions and visa-free travel policy for Indian citizens. From the bustling city of Almaty to the majestic mountains of the Tian Shan range, Kazakhstan offers travellers diverse experiences. The country also boasts a rich cultural heritage, with several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and the petroglyphs of Tamgaly. Additionally, Kazakhstan is known for its hospitality and extremely friendly and hospitable people, making it a safe and welcoming destination for visitors worldwide.
As someone who has explored these countries extensively, I’m excited to share my firsthand experiences and discoveries with like-minded travellers like you. Here’s an overview of my specially curated 8-day adventure and culture tour of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan with Banjara Experiences.
